The Spanish Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics (RENHYD) Adopts the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA)
The Spanish Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics (RENHYD), the open-access journal of the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is pleased to announce the official adoption of the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA, https://sfdora.org) as part of its code of ethics and editorial policies.
Established in 2021, DORA (https://sfdora.org) emphasizes the importance of improving research evaluation practices in academic settings, with the aim of promoting more effective and comprehensive approaches. It encourages the active involvement of all key stakeholders in the research process, including academic publishers. RENHYD’s decision to endorse DORA reflects its ongoing commitment to editorial excellence and the advancement of ethical and high-quality scientific communication.
In accordance with this new directive, scientific articles submitted to RENHYD must adhere to specific criteria that reflect the journal’s commitment to research quality and originality. These criteria include:
- Beyond the Impact Factor (IF): RENHYD will continue to provide updated information on a variety of metrics in the “Indexing and Metrics” section, including Scopus metrics such as CiteScore and SNIP; Scimago Journal & Country Rank indicators such as SJR and H-index; and editorial and publication timelines to offer a broader perspective on the journal’s performance.
- Originality of Research: RENHYD accepts only original research that aligns with its editorial scope and follows its authorship guidelines.
- Responsible Authorship: Authors will be encouraged to provide a detailed description of each author’s contributions to the research. This information will be published alongside the article.
- Responsible Citation: Authors and reviewers will be invited, whenever appropriate, to prioritize the citation of primary literature in which the original observations were reported, rather than citing review articles, in order to give proper credit where it is due.
With the adoption of DORA, RENHYD reaffirms its commitment to fostering fair, transparent, and inclusive research assessment practices.
